  • Why Treasured Lotus Creations?

I named my company Treasured Lotus Creations, LLC, because I wanted the name to define who I am and what I am doing. To understand the name, you have to know a little more about me. My name is Nicki, but that was not the name that I was given at birth. I was born in South Korea and was adopted at three months old. When I was born, I was named 보련 which translates to "Treasure Lotus". I learned about this name when I was a child, and developed a fascination with lotus flowers. While attending college, I began a birth family search. During the birth family search, I discovered that I am an identical twin who was separated at birth. I have been fortunate enough to not only find my birth family, but also keep in regular touch with them, and my twin sister. I knew instantly that I wanted my company's name to be Treasured Lotus Creations because I create every product by hand, and put TLC (tender, love, and care) into everything made.

  • Welcome!

Hafa Adai [a Guam greeting] Beginning Roots Fall 2018- My fiancée is in the Coast Guard and received orders to be the Captain on a patrol ship in Guam, a tiny island in the middle of the Pacific Ocean. As a result, I moved with him from Washington D.C. to Guam. The shift from working full time as an investigator to having unlimited free time left me feeling aimless. In the beginning, I attempted to fill my time with diving, snorkeling, and roaming around the island. I quickly realized that I needed to find another hobby to fill the free time I had at home. Therefore, I searched online for sewing teachers in Guam. I came across The Sewing Bee with Jackie Muna. I decided to attend her Level 1 class in which I learned how to make an apron. My true passion for sewing developed after I completed her Level 2 class-- making a robe. Through sewing a robe, I was impressed with myself that I could take fabric off the bolt, and turn it into a functional, and wearable item. From then on, I was dedicated to learn more sewing techniques. Within a year of classes, I was able to make my bridesmaid's dress for my sister-in-law's wedding that was held in Colorado (the photo seen on this page). Within two years, I learned the basics of pattern drafting. Spring 2020- The Coronavirus hit Guam, and shortly thereafter, Guam was in lockdown. During this time, I began making masks for friends. Then, one of my friends, who is also a nurse, told me that her ears were uncomfortable due to having to wear a mask during her shift. She asked if it would be possible for me to make a headband with buttons on them so that the elastics (from the mask) would not go around her ears. I searched through my fabric stash, and found some knit fabric that I could use for the headband. It was because of her that I began making these Ear-Saver Headbands for others. Below is an example of how the Ear-saver Headbands look. Fall 2020- My husband received new orders to the Washington DC Metro Area. We moved back in July and since then, I have been busy building this website and starting Treasured Lotus Creations, LLC.

Please contact me today if you are interested in a custom made Baby Onesie Quilt. Orders will usually take approximately a week to two weeks to fulfill depending upon how many t-shirt quilt orders there are. (A lot of Etsy quilts can take up to a month to be completed before shipping). Depending on the complexity of the Baby Onesie Quilt, it can take anywhere between 20 to 30 hours to make. Please keep this in mind when you are provided with a price quote. Each quilt top will be made using your baby onesies, and designed with your assistance. The middle layer is a low loft, 100% natural cotton, and the backing can either be quilt quality cotton, or minky-dot fabric. The three layers will then be quilted (sewn) together. Finally, it is finished by adding a cotton binding to the edges. I will be working with you in the process to decide the colors you would like to use. The Pink Baby Onesie Quilt measures 32x42 inches. It was custom made with baby onesies that a beautiful baby girl wore when she was younger. Please note that the picture here is when I was just about to finish applying the binding to the quilt. To recreate a similar quilt to this one, I will need 24 four and a half inch squares, and 12 six and a half inch squares. There is also a five inch border the goes around the quilt. In total, I will need 36 onesie squares. Sometimes, the back of the onesie can also be used for another square if you do not have 36 onesie. Also, squares or the border can be made out of receiving blankets, or other baby fabric items. The Blue Baby Onesie Quilt measures approximately 30 x 40 inches. To make this style quilt (without the appliqué), you will need 24 five and a half inch squares with a five inch border. Therefore, the onesie quilt will need 24 onesie squares. Sometimes, the back of the onesie can also be used for another square if there are not 24 onesies available. Do you need need more onesies for the above pattern? Sometimes, the back of the onesie can be used for a second square. Also, the squares or border can be made out of receiving blankets, or other baby fabric items. If you prefer a more affordable option, I can produce Baby Onesie blankets, in which your baby onesies will be designed with your assistance, sewn together, but it will not contain a middle layer, or the quilted process (sewing the lines in the middle). Instead, the baby onesie top, will then be paired with a quilt quality cotton, or minky-dot fabric. The Pink Baby Onesie Quilt is an example of what the top of the Baby Onesie Blanket would look like. Baby Onesie Quilts or Baby Onesie Blankets Your baby's onesies hold special memories.
